How to Make Flashing Graphics (flashies)

We will make an image similar to the one above.

1. Make your NORMAL comment or image in Paint Shop pro.

2. Use a shaped brush as a dingbat

3. put the shape on your image at least TWICE, so we can have something to FLASH lol.

4. If you did 2 shapes, you will need to copy your image, and paste it as a new image in PSP (so there are 2 identical pics (comments) next to each other.

5. Now, comes the flashing effect. Grab the LIGHTEN DARKEN tool from the tool menu

Using the same brush, in the SAME SIZE you used for your shapes, go over OME shape in each of the images, and lighten them to your taste. SUBTLE is better. If you do it too hard it will come out WHITE.

6. Open up Animation shop. Paste the FIRST image as a NEW ANIMATION, and paste the second image AFTER THE CURRENT FRAME.

7. Now, we do not want it to go REALLY FAST, so what we will do is click EDIT>SELECT ALL> EDIT>FRAME PROPERTIES> and set the frame properties to 30.

Play it, test it, speed it up, slow it down...... whatever you have to do to make it YOURS!!!

Save it as a GIF, and you have a new flashie!!!
